1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using EditPDF.fyi (the "Site" or "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically.

2. Description of Service

EditPDF.fyi provides free online tools for working with PDF files, including but not limited to compressing, merging, splitting, editing, and converting PDF documents between various file formats. Some tools process files entirely within your browser and never transmit your file to any server. Others upload files to our servers for processing and automatically delete them within 60 minutes of upload.

The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising revenue and voluntary donations. We make no commitment to provide the Service indefinitely or to any particular standard of availability.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this minimum age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use the Service.

The Service is not intended for use in any jurisdiction where it would be prohibited by law. By using the Service, you represent that your use does not violate any applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit their use of the Service. You must not:

• Upload, process, or distribute files that contain malware, viruses, ransomware, trojans, or any other malicious or harmful code
• Upload files that infringe on the copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights of any third party
• Upload files containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any other content that sexually exploits or endangers minors
• Upload files containing illegal content of any kind, including content that promotes illegal activity
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site, its servers, or any systems or networks connected to the Site
• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the Service at a scale that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure
• Use the Service to build or operate a competing service or to resell access to the Service without our express written consent
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of these Terms and to take any action we deem appropriate, including removing content, suspending access, and reporting to law enforcement authorities.

5. User Content and Representations

By uploading or submitting any file to the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the owner of the file, or you have all necessary rights, licences, consents, and permissions to upload and process the file through the Service
• The file does not violate any applicable law or regulation
• The file does not infringe the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party
• You have obtained any and all necessary consents from individuals whose personal data may be contained within the file

You retain full ownership of all files you upload. We do not claim any ownership rights over your files. We do not read, index, analyse, or share the content of your files for any purpose other than to perform the processing you have requested. Server-side files are automatically and permanently deleted within 60 minutes of upload.

6. Intellectual Property

The Site and its original content, features, and functionality — including but not limited to its design, code, text, graphics, logos, and interface — are owned by EditPDF.fyi and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any part of the Site without our express written permission.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trade names, trademarks, service marks, logos, or domain names.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (b) the results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable; (c) any errors in the Service will be corrected; or (d) the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components.

PDF conversion and processing involves inherent technical limitations. Fonts, layouts, formatting, images, and other elements may not always be reproduced perfectly in output files, particularly in complex documents. You are solely responsible for verifying that any output file meets your requirements before relying on it for any purpose. You should always retain copies of your original files.

We do not endorse or take responsibility for any third-party content, websites, or services that may be linked to or from the Site.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EDITPDF.FYI AND ITS OPERATORS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Loss of data, files, or documents
• Loss of profits, revenue, or business
• Loss of goodwill or reputation
• Cost of substitute services
• Any damage resulting from unauthorised access to or alteration of your files or data
• Any damage resulting from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in output files

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, THIS AMOUNT IS ZERO.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EditPDF.fyi and its operators, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to:

• Your use of or access to the Service
• Your violation of any provision of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights
• Any content or files you upload, submit, or otherwise transmit through the Service
• Any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party

This defence and indemnification obligation will survive these Terms and your use of the Service.

11. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with and relies upon third-party services including Google Analytics and Google AdSense. These third-party services have their own terms of service and privacy policies, and your use of the Service may be subject to those terms. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of any third-party service.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. These links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute our endorsement of the linked site or its content. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content of any third-party website.

12. Copyright and DMCA

We respect intellectual property rights and expect users of the Service to do the same. If you believe that any content processed through or hosted on the Service infringes your copyright, please contact us at hello@editpdf.fyi with the following information:

• A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
• A description of where the allegedly infringing material is located
• Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, email address)
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the copyright owner's behalf
• Your physical or electronic signature

We will respond to valid DMCA notices and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the material in question.

13. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemic, war, civil unrest, terrorism, government actions, power failures, internet outages, cyberattacks, or failures of third-party infrastructure providers. During such events, our obligations under these Terms are suspended for the duration of the event.

14. Modifications to the Service

We reserve the right at any time and without notice to: (a) modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any part of it; (b) change the features, functionality, or tools available through the Service; (c) impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts or all of the Service. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination, shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you may also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you reside, and nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on such mandatory provisions.

16. Severability and Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions of these Terms continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. A waiver of any provision will be effective only if made in writing and signed by an authorised representative of EditPDF.fyi.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and EditPDF.fyi with respect to your use of the Service and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, with respect to the Service.
