How it works
Splitting a PDF with EditPDF gives you precise control over which pages end up in which file. Upload your PDF by dragging it into the upload box or clicking to browse. Once the file is loaded, choose your split method. You can extract a specific range of pages — for example, pages 3 to 7 from a 20-page document — entering the range in the format "3-7". You can also extract individual pages by listing them with commas, such as "1, 4, 9". If you want to separate every page into its own file, use the split-all option and download the result as a ZIP archive.
Extracting specific pages is useful in many everyday situations. A common example is receiving a long combined PDF — a lease agreement, a report, or a batch of invoices — and needing only a particular section. Rather than printing the entire document and discarding what you do not need, you can extract just the relevant pages as a smaller, focused PDF.
Splitting is also useful for file size management. If a PDF is too large to email, splitting it into two or three smaller sections allows you to send each part as a separate attachment within the email size limit. The recipient can then merge the parts back together if they need the complete document, using our Merge PDF tool.
